Shaping Malaysia’s Engineering Future - Talent, Technology, Transformation

ENGINEER & MARVEX 2025 officially kicked off today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Fadillah bin Yusof. The launch signals four days of innovation, knowledge exchange, and collaboration at the region’s leading platform for the engineering and HVAC&R industries.

In his address, Dato’ Seri Fadillah underscored talent development as both Malaysia’s greatest opportunity and its most pressing challenge. Despite rapid industry growth, the nation continues to face a significant shortfall in professional engineers compared to developed nations like Germany and France. Bridging this gap, he stressed, is critical to ensuring Malaysia’s competitiveness and resilience in the global economy.

“We must strengthen TVET and STEM pathways to produce graduates who are industry-ready, promote lifelong learning and certification to keep pace with evolving technologies, and leverage platforms like ENGINEER & MARVEX to provide continuous professional development and cross-sector exposure.”

“It’s about developing the right calibre of engineers, those equipped to design smart cities, resilient infrastructure, renewable grids, and sustainable water systems,” he said.

ENGINEER & MARVEX 2025, ASEAN’s leading trade and knowledge platform for the built environment, is jointly organised by The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), the Malaysian Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Association (MACRA) and C.I.S.

The exhibition reflects Malaysia’s development agenda by showcasing innovations that strengthen infrastructure, advance healthcare and accelerate clean energy adoption.

With RM450 million in business transactions projected this year, ENGINEER & MARVEX continues to contribute directly to Malaysia’s growth.

These platforms respond directly to the country’s long-term development goals under the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13) and the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), preparing engineers and professionals to deliver Malaysia’s clean energy, healthcare and digital economy ambitions.
