ENGINEER & MARVEX 2024 Highlight the Next Frontier, Shaping Malaysia Economic Future

As Malaysia navigates its ambition of transitioning into a high-value economy, the emphasis on embracing technology has never been more critical. The nation’s economic strategy aims to foster inclusivity and elevate the societal standards, ensuring inclusive prosperity.

The path to an inclusive and prosperous future relies on harnessing advancements in key sectors, and the ENGINEER & MARVEX exhibition plays a crucial role as a platform that brings the industry together towards this goal.

“ENGINEER & MARVEX serve as crucial platforms underscoring Malaysia’s readiness to position itself as a tech-competent nation, equipped with a highly-skilled workforce prepared to tackle the challenges and opportunities of a modern economy,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof.

One of the key economic enablers is the advancement of data centre infrastructure and cleanroom technology as key sectors that provide a strong platform for Malaysia to achieve its high-value economic goals. ENGINEER & MARVEX have debuted a remarkable Live Showcase of Data Centre Infrastructure and Cleanroom Technologies at the exhibition, a breakthrough feature allowing visitors to experience firsthand the technology and operational requirements needed to sustain these facilities.

“This showcase is instrumental in breaking market entry barriers, enabling more players to participate in Malaysia’s technological and economic growth,” said Dato’ Seri Fadhillah.

Engineering, as noted by Ir. Prof Dr. Jeffrey Chiang, President of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), is the nexus of Malaysia’s economic and technological growth.

“Engineering has the power to shape a better world, one that is sustainable, inclusive, and just,” he remarked. ENGINEER & MARVEX presents projects and innovations that align technical expertise with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, crucial for building a sustainable future.

Dato’ Vincent Lim, President of C.I.S, emphasised the significance of ENGINEER & MARVEX in promoting technological and engineering capabilities, as well as serving as a platform for engineers to address industry challenges.

“Engineers, are not only problem solvers but also catalysts of innovation, driving economic vibrancy by pushing the boundaries of applied science and technology,” he noted.

Peter Tan, President of the Malaysian Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Association (MACRA), added that the gathering of industry stakeholders at ENGINEER & MARVEX allows access to the latest technologies that support the net-zero transition.

“Sustainability as a key pillar of the exhibition, reinforcing the interconnectedness of technological advancement and environmental stewardship, fundamental in Malaysia’s journey towards economic growth,” he added.
