Business Matching Opens Doors Across Borders

From solar cables for projects in the Philippines to Malaysian technologies headed for Cambodia, conversations at the ENGINEER MARVEX Business Matching Programme are moving quickly from introductions to potential business.

The programme brought together Malaysian sellers with international buyers in targeted meetings designed to turn exhibition participation into commercial opportunities.

A returning buyer from the Philippines, for example, is sourcing solar cables, transformers and battery storage for upcoming solar installations, and found stronger matches this year.

“We need suppliers. This year, the companies are a better fit to our needs. We will set another online meeting, and they are also planning to visit the Philippines,” shared Engr. Analyn Carig Fernandez REE, General Manager, Anointed ACEF Engineering Services & Supply from Philippines.

Indian buyer, Mayank Bhargava B, Director, AAD Tech, involved in HVAC retrofits found the programme useful in identifying new energy-efficient technologies that could be introduced to an established customer base.

“As a businessman, we need to look for new products, and these kinds of platforms are where you actually are able to get them. If the business meeting can be arranged with the people we want to meet, that is the biggest benefit,” he pointed out.

For Malaysian manufacturers, the meetings provide a direct route into regional markets. Insafoam Insulation, which produces pre-insulated piping, explored opportunities in Cambodia.

“The programme can help us expand our market to an international level, not only in Malaysia,” said Aleesha, Sales Engineer, Insafoam Insulation.

Ecosil Solutions similarly found interest from overseas participants, including potential distribution opportunities and applications for its sound-insulation material in data centres.

“When we do business matching like this, we can understand what is happening in another country and what we can do to solve problems for industry players there,” explained Faten Najehah, Assistant, Sales & Marketing Manager, Ecosil Solution.

Some discussions are already progressing beyond the meeting table. Mohamed Almontaser, Electrical Construction Engineer, Waha Oil Company, Libya said, “I’m looking to work with some companies and to visit their factories while I’m here so we can start progressing the discussions.”

Thailand participant, Jesada Taksin, Assistant Managing Director, Kanoksin Export Import Co. Ltd, also identified vendors relevant to future projects. “We have many discussions that we can continue. For data centres, where IT, electrical and mechanical come together, we can see everything in one place.”

Sophakk Rin, a representative of YSG Machinery in Cambodia said, that the programme provides access to Malaysian expertise and technology needed back home.

“I have the opportunity to connect with many companies in Malaysia and it made me realise that we need this kind of support for our projects in Cambodia.”

By bringing international buyers directly to Malaysian suppliers, ENGINEER MARVEX is creating a more purposeful route from product discovery to follow-up meetings, factory visits, distribution discussions and potential projects.

It turns the exhibition floor into a gateway for Malaysian capabilities to reach new markets, while connecting regional buyers with the technologies and partners they need to grow.
