The IEM Convention, Malaysia’s largest engineering symposium and conference brought six exciting IEM Conferences and two concurrent symposiums and conferences by ASHRAE and Carrier.
Key insights included safety issues in the engineering industry through “Safety in Engineering,” “ASEAN Electrotechnical Symposium” covering the latest trends in the electrotechnical industry and “Advances in Structural Design” providing delegates a peek into structural challenges and solutions in the market. Expert speakers also discussed transformation in the digital space, efficiency in project management for engineers and the enabling tools available, while a popular topic was the rising trend of smart cities and its importance in meeting the nation’s sustainable agenda.
These issues were discussed in the symposiums titled “ASEAN Digital Transformation”, “Smart Sustainable Cities Engineering” and “Project Management.”
Concurrently, ASHRAE Malaysia Chapter ran a symposium to drive conversations on the role of air quality in creating sustainable living standards. Meanwhile, Carrier ran a symposium with experts sharing their knowledge and experience in challenges faced in the green economy and solutions to overcome them.
With topics that covered a broad spectrum of engineering disciplines, close to 2,000 delegates who attended the symposiums and conferences certainly gained invaluable knowledge and had the chance to mingle and network with like-minded individuals.
