The performance of construction materials does not depend on the product alone, how it is mixed and applied on site matters just as much.
QuickMix Solutions brought this point to life at ENGINEER MARVEX 2026 through a hands-on demonstration of its grouting and concrete repair solutions, showing how different consistencies are designed for different applications.
For grouting works, the demonstration showed how a properly prepared, highly flowable mixture could move through stones and confined spaces, simulating the obstructions that may be encountered under actual site conditions. The fine consistency allows the grout to reach difficult spaces and fill surrounding voids.
For concrete repair, a different consistency is required. With the appropriate water-to-powder ratio, the repair mortar forms a stiffer, cohesive mixture that can be shaped and trowelled onto damaged areas. Its fibre-reinforced formulation also helps the material maintain cohesion and adhere during vertical and overhead applications.
The demonstration underscored the importance of following the recommended mixing ratio rather than simply adding more water to make a material easier to work with, as doing so can affect its intended performance.
By taking these solutions beyond product specifications and putting them into action, ENGINEER MARVEX gives engineers and construction professionals a closer look at how materials actually behave when applied turning technical knowledge into practical lessons for the job site.
